EA has decided to Suspend Development and Support of Battlefield 3
A few days ago EA pulled Battlefield 3, Aftershock from the iTunes App Store after there were numerous complaints about its gameplay and overall quality. The publisher released a statement which seemed to indicate that they might be making changes in order to satisfy their customers. Now if you have been looking forward to a remade and improved Battlefield 3: Aftershock, you might be in for some disappointment, as the company has recently announced that development and support for the game will be suspended.
“In the interest of bringing consumers only the highest level of quality mobile entertainment, EA Mobile has decided to suspend development and support of Battlefield 3: Aftershock and refocus its resources on other titles. The Aftershock servers will be live through March 31st, 2012, and customers who have already downloaded the game can continue to play until then.”
Battlefield 3: Aftershock was a cross promotion between Battlefield 3 and the upcoming movie Act of Valor, with the game’s single level inspired by the film. The game was compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3rd generation and above devices running the 4.0 operating system or later.
Battlefield 3 broke EA’s records by shipping 10 million copies worldwide when it released last October on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
