Sony just released 4.0 beta Android for Xperia Play
Sony has released Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) beta ROM for unlocked Xperia PLAY. The release requires users unlock the bootloader on their phone, taking the device at least temporarily out of warranty, but will give the interface boosts and support for apps like Chrome for Android. Most of the obstacles are the risks of some games not being fully optimized as well as the absence of officially blessed Google apps, including Face Unlock, Gmail, and Google Maps.
When it comes with this smartphone, the game offer is pretty big and a bit pretentious due to the special controls embedded onto the phone. This is why Sony has worked with several game developers to optimize some of the most popular games available for Xperia PLAY to run smoother with Ice Cream Sandwich.
However, it appears that the Japanese company needs additional input from those who flash this ROM, on how the content and games work on the smartphone.
